Help for deaf people
One of the aims of the Lions Club of Sidmouth, and for other Lions Clubs, is to help people whose hearing is impaired.
Below are some examples of our work to try and help people with impaired hearing
I See What You're Saying Badge
We are all able to recognise visually impaired people by the white cane that they carry. But those with hearing impairment are not easily recognised, and this can lead to difficulties of communication.
The purpose of the "I See What You're Saying" badge is to indicate that the wearer of the badge uses lip reading as their main means of understanding what is being said to them.
If you have impaired hearing, or you know someone who has, and you would like to enquire about obtaining a badge, please contact us on the number shown below, or please use the Contact us page.
Collection of old hearing aids
Old hearing aids can be used to help those with hearing difficulties around the world. For more information, please see here. To arrange collection of your old hearing aid, please contact us on the number shown below, or please use the Contact us page.
